Hello everyone-
I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the folks at Vortech for all of their hard work in the past few days. I'm not sure if everything is totally solved but my phones have returned to normal so that is my way of seeing that maybe the worst is over. I would like to start a new thread that talks about different ideas and strategies to prevent a reoccurrence of this..... But right now I have to tell a client how to log into their PHP admin. (I love an old-fashioned support ticket ....smells like....victory) Thanks again. b |

I second that..... thanks all in vortech... theres always dificult times but you have been there for us. (even if some resellers dont think that and just start to freak out and take it against you).
Almost 4 years with Vortech and still happy ![]()

have any of you ever experienced this kind of stuff with other hosts? have you ever experienced the complete ignorance of issues like this from other hosts? there are tons of horror stories out there with servers that just disappear, email down for weeks, etc with no word at all from the hosting company.
my guess is that most of us here have all been with other hosting companies and for those of you that are first time resellers and chose vortech to start with... first i congratulate you on making a great choice... and secondly, i challenge you to open a second reseller account with any other company -- see what it is like other places... i can tell you it is extremely difficult to find the mix of value and affordability that vortech offers. The list of pros goes on far, far longer than any list of cons any of you can come up with. yes this issue has been going on for some time, but you have been kept informed... i am sure other companies would just bury the box and make the users move all the email accounts to another server. vortech is working with US to help solve the issue and make a better service come from this very challenging issue. If the servers have been under attack, it is most likely because of one of us, or our clients... it definitely has a vendeta kind of feel to it... regardless, this company has done nothing but grow in positive directions with US in mind. Thanks again to Brad and the CREW for doing outstanding work with US in mind.

Just wanted to also say that I have been with other hosts before and Vortech is the best at letting you know what is going on and getting it back up and working in the fastest way possible. Most other hosting companys are just out to get your money and they don't seem to particually care if you have the service you paid for or not.
So everyone really should stop complaining and just be understanding that these issues come up occassionally. That is the reality of the web hosting business. Computers have issues sometimes, idiots attack servers, things happen. Just remember for each compliant your getting they are getting that plus 100s probably. HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE Carol |

I was one of the "smart ones" that moved his clients to a new mail server. Well guess what, now mail11 is having all kinds of problems. So please, don't spend time and try to move all your accounts, its not worth the trouble.
Best wishes to all mail servers :-) Just goes to show you that anything can happen to any server at any time. I still love Vortech - its just frustrating!! |

I will check with tech to see whats up if anything other than what they have already stated. I know they had a crap load of people trying to check pop3 and send today but I want to make sure another attack is not trying to slid it's ugly head in on them.

after 22 pages of posts, can someone please tell us what is the status now? is it stable?
what should we tell our customers? what can they expect? how should things be configured from now (25/2525)? please give us a short overview! paul |

All fixed and stable please use 2525 for SMTP on any system would be best.
