email issue with just one domain

Anyone recoginize this error, sending and receiving email:

----------------------
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.likewater.com', Server: 'mail.likewater.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
------------------------

usually. i would think this is an issue with one of the mail servers, but in this case it's only happening with this domain, so I don't believe it's an issue with mail, or mail1

I've tested on multiple email clients too, and same error. and I've checked my settings many many times also - nothing wrong there either.

The wierd thing is that checking through WEBMAIL works just fine.

Thanks.

shouldn't your account be - yourname@likewater.com instead of mail.likewater.com?

Account (depending on email client) is the actual email address.

Give it a try, I could be wrong.

I also checked mail.likewater.com and it's going to NT10 rather than your webmail. Did you set up 'mail' as a subdomain? If so you should remove it as that's designated for mail, not web.

thanks. i do use yourname@likewater.com for the account. that error message is just referencing a generic name for that account using the mail server. I don't what it could be. I hope I don't have to turn the mail service off and on again. That would suck.

ok. i resolved this by changing the POP3/SMTP server to: mail.net2o.com which is my alias to the mail server. And this works.

But why isn't mail.likewater.com? It used to, and there is nothing different about this domain at all. Admin, any ideas?
