Mail8 - proxy coming soon

Mail8 will be getting a firewall/proxy/greylisting frontend similar to mail7 in the very near future (a matter of hours). This should help with the load considerably. The load is the cause of many of your complaints: inability to connect, delayed mail, duplicate emails. We will update this thread once it is in place.

The proxy is in place and functioning. The load on the mailserver dropped dramatically.

Mail8 was done last night around 7PM. Email support for anything related to this.

So what's going on with mail8 now? Nagios is showing it as down & guest sign in doesn't have access to the comment.

A: Load seem to have been part of the reboot issues as that same attack picked up then it seemed to just drop off. We took out spamd and everything worked great again. It's been really hard because we can't really tell what they are doing when they connect to port 25 other than them just sitting there opening 1000's of connections.


Is the server fixed and stable yet?
A: At this time it seems so. But we will be able to tell today as I am sure the load with go up as it gets busy today.
