Hi
I have few questions related to my site (easyarabia.com), I want to host this domain on a server located in the UK and make it as a primary server and also I have a secondary server (just in case the primary is unreachable), which have the same files and same email accounts. Currently, I have two DNS servers, first one is with Vortech Inc. (Secondary Server) and the second is with the company located in the UK (Primary Server). What I'm trying to do is to keep my site running 24/7 all over the world. Also, I have two email servers. My questions are: 1) How to configure the DNS Zone File for the two DNS servers? 2) Can I use primary and secondary mail servers? 3) Is it possible to create these name servers: ns1.uk.easyarabia.net ns2.uk.easyarabia.net by creating A records or CNAME records that points to the original name servers and use them in the domain name servers (through my domain's control panel)? Many thanks in advance.

I looks like you may have figured it out. When I just checked, this is what found:
You have 4 DNS servers listed with your registrar, and they all have correct glue records in the GTLD servers. This is good. ns2.us.easyarabia.net appears to be refusing queries right now. This is bad. The actual machine misbehaving is ns1.hsphere.cc You appear to have two different zone files. One on the uk servers and one on ns1.us. This is bad. It appears that you have two completely different masters that aren't sharing zones. Maybe the data in the zones is the same, but this is a generally bad thing since you might one day change one zone, but not the other. In both of these different zones, you have NS records for easyarabia.com that point to different names. The UK servers point to ns1 and ns2.ehosting.com and the US server that's up points to ns4 and ns5.easyarabia.net. While these are physically the same machines as ns1 and ns2 for each of the countries, this is also bad, and will cause at the very least, additional lookups. It may cause queries to fail completely for some paranoid resolvers that are upset that "ns1.uk.easyarabia.net" is claiming both that it's authoratative and that it's not one of the nameservers for the domain in question (the .ehosting.com servers are). Sorry this is so long, but I just wanted to explain as well as I could what's going on, because it may all appear to be working, but it might not work for some people, and at the very least is probably causing unnecessary extra lookups. Let me know if you have any questions about any of this or anything... Sacha |
