PSOFT Unveils H-Sphere 2.5 Beta
13th October 2005

Provides increased flexibility for customers and control for hosting companies; includes features such as Microsoft Exchange Hosting and dedicated server billing.

PSOFT, the web hosting and server automation division of Comodo, today released a private beta version of its flagship control panel, H-Sphere.

The feature enhancements can now be previewed and tested by partners, says the company. Version 2.5 Beta 1 introduces a range of new features which include Microsoft Exchange Hosting, dedicated server billing, native load balancing and bandwidth tracking for web and mail servers, Cobalt RaQ migration tools and support for PayPal Website Payments Pro, claims Comodo. H-Sphere offers a client control panel, an admin interface, private label reselling, built-in SSL certificate management tools, virtual private servers, integrated billing, trouble ticket system and powerful clustering capabilities - even allowing the management of multiple Linux, FreeBSD & Win200x servers in one centralized cluster.

"By being responsive to the needs of our customers, we aim to create the 'Universal Control Panel' - one that maximizes the options web-hosts can offer to their customers whilst delivering utmost power and control to the administrator," stated a company spokesman.

They don't even have 2.4.2 stable yet, maybe now we know the reason, they started working on 2.5.

What do you guys think about the Exchange server possibilities this upgrade could offer users? Anyone interested in having Exchange hosting instead of just POP and SMTP like the system has now?

I'd be interested in exchange hosting.
Would it be just email, or the whole range of exchange services?

I think Exchange Hosting will bring email services we can offer to another dimension. Most of my clients use websites minimally but come for email services. Enhanced capabilities will go a long way.

Guys, take a look at this if you're wondering about the capabilities they plan to include for Exchange... It's a page from the User Manual on the Exchange menu options H-Sphere's user control panel would have.

The scheduling and the shared contacts etc is the big advantage with Exchange - I have had new customers asking for that every now and again and have had to turn them back.

A client today asked me about getting an Exchange Server. There is apparently a demand out there.

At the end of the day, theres demand for anything and everything, gauging the actual size of demand is the trick of the trade though, not jumping into something becuase you've gotten one or two people query whether you can provide it and then later finding out after investing to provide the solution that they were the only two that wanted it
