Router / Network Down Time On 10/08/2005 between 1:00am ET and 1:15am ET

On 10/8/2005 between 1:00am ET and 1:15am ET we will be upgrading the memory in our Cisco router. This should only cause 5 to 10 minutes of downtime during the switch to the new memory. We would like to allow 15 minutes of network downtime as we switch the hardware out.

This is due to the 2 small network outages we have seen this week and it has come to our attention that the memory in our new route card may be bad so we are replacing that before replacing the card.

Thanks for the Info, admin

Is it possible for admin to mention the time GMT or UTC in the future messages?
I think that this will help all of us here to have the time converted correctly to the local time in our respective countries?

Well about 50% of our customers are ET so then more would have to converte the time from GMT.

Maybe so, the thing is almost everyone knows what their local GMT "offset" is, giving dates and times in GMT would really make it a lot easier for everyone and show that your interested in catering to your international customers needs by making thing easier for them too.

I am fine with GMT since You have to know what that is if you work on pc's. Altho that doesn't take into account DST

Time zones asside.. Update/Upgrade done.

I moved the Progress Telecom (Epik) Port to another router port. Their BGP session will be down for a few as I sort out some CRC errors. But the network us up and everything is reachable and fast at the moment.

I also see a difference in number of hops to Vortech
it increased from around 14 to 19 from our part of the world.
