Yes, my domains have been having recurring intermittant problems with mail over the past two weeks. The severity ranges from disasterous (including a 12 hour block where all mail simply disappeared in to the great abyss) to inconvenient (several hour delays in receiving message) to annoying (mail server not found, etc).

I submitted a ticket which was referred to level 3 support, but they couldn't do anything about the problem unless I provided copies of the headers from the missing messages. Seemed like a catch-22 to me (how do I obtain headers from messages that were never received?). Needless to say, <Ticket Closed> was the answer.

Web hosting is a minor part of my business; EMail, on the other hand, is critical. My company looks incompetent when we do not act on incoming invoices and change orders for our clients, and I've had that pointed out to me by three different clients this week alone.

I've been a loyal customer and strong supporter of Vortech since July of 2002, but these continued mail problems have severely strained that relationship. Regretfully, I am currently in the process of resolving them myself. I realize that I am a very small account to them. Indeed, in the time it has taken to type this message, they have probably already signed up a new client to replace me.

I wish you better luck in your situation.

In which mail server is your account?. I did not recieved complains from customers about mail issues during this week. I have customers in almost all mail servers. The only problem i found this week were some duplicated mails in one account on mail6.

The majority of my domains have been actively hosted on Vortech systems since I originally signed up in 2002. Therefore, most are on the original two mail servers (Mail0 or Mail1).

My accounts on Mail1 seem to have the most problems, particularly lately. The domains on Mail0 are behaving fairly normally right now. In the past (6 months or more ago), I've generally experienced more problems with Mail0 domains.

The answers I've been given in the past regarding various problems are that the older mail servers have the higher loads (and presumably the most history), therefore they have the most problems. I keep hearing about plans to rebuild them, or to make changes, but the general theme is "one day soon".

After a couple years of "one day soon", and an intensifying pace of problems, I'm becoming more concerned that I will need to do something "one day soon". My measure of "one day SOON" is much shorter than "some day in the next couple of years", largely out of necessity. I really wish things were otherwise, but my business is in jeopardy.

All tickets are closed until you reply. Are you sure you didn't mention duplicate emails in this ticket? That's when we request headers. Missing emails we request TO, FROM and time sent.

Angry what is going on with Vortech indeed?

I can only agree with the previous posts. I have also been a loyal and satisfied customer since 2002 and service has always been important for Vortech, but it seems this has changed lately. They still reply to my tickets, but do NOT solve the problems. I am sure they are aware of the many problems (mail delays, mails bouncing), but nothing is been done about it. I only get the typical answers like "who are you sending to" or "that is their problem" Is this Vortechs policy now? Why? I think most clients were with Vortech because of its service. Is there still hope???
