Transfer Account To Another Reseller On Matrix

There is another Matrix reseller that would like to transfer one of his clients account to me, also a Matrix reseller. I don't think I can create an account with the same domain name hosted by another Matrix reseller. I think they may have to delete their account first. I would like to avoid website downtime if possible. Does anyone know a better way to transfer account between resellers in H-Sphere?

Thanks in advance

Both of you need to submit tickets. There is a 1$ charge to transfer the account.

Please note that we can only transfer accounts, not individual domains. So if you are looking to move a single domain that shares an account with other domains, that you'll have to do yourself..

Just for future info. When you say do it yourself I assume you mean work w/ the other reseller to transfer the domain (meaning creating and closing domain), which you would have to do anyway. Wouldn't you probably be better off doing it yourself anyway in case there is something setup in an acct. you don't want on your setup or that's inaccurate?

Actually, I am more concerned with complete website downtime. The nameservers on his account are different than mine. If H-Sphere would allow us both to have the account setup, with the same domain name, when the nameserver changes propogated it would just switch over to my account. It looks like I'll just have to make the nameserver changes, monitor it, and when they propogate the other reseller will have to delete his account, then I can create the account and upload it ect. If there's a better way, I'd sure like to know.

Unfortunately, there's no way to avoid the downtime due to the nameserver change. When we move the account, it will keep the originall nameserver IP Address, so the site *may* resolve using the wrong nameserver hostnames until DNS is propagated to the proper nameserver hostnames. However, there is no guarantee that the site will resolve during propagation time.

Moving the account is convenient in the fact that you don't have to set everything back up again. Though, you would have to set mail back up because you have to turn Mail Settings off and then on again after the move to resolve to the right mail server. When you turn it off, all the mail settings are lost and then you have to readd them. It also keeps your domain, etc on the same server, so it keeps the IP Address, etc.

If you delete a domain and readd it to a new account, chances are it will be on a new servers with a new IP Address and you will have to re-upload all of your content.

Hopefully downtime will only be 24hrs. I suppose if you or customer had floating dns or a backup dns that would prevent the downtime. DNS is just one of those annoying things that you can do only so much about.

You could also try dropping the ttl of the existing dns to under an hour a few days before the move. Not all DNS servers however, honor ttl.

Seems the whole problem is that I can't have two accounts withing the H-Sphere dynasty with the same domain names, regardless of where the nameservers take you. I suppose I could just set up the account/domain with another reseller, get everything ready, then change the dns. Then later have the other reseller delete the account, then move it to Matrix - or move all my Matrix accounts to the new reseller. The latter may be an option since all of my clients seem to think H-Sphere is to complicated and difficult to use!!!

that the way i used to face with but i have to delete it and change nameserver and add back but
i follow the step below
1-back up data
2-change nameserver in registrar
3-delete & add into new reseller account

and waiting it to update

that is my experienced .....

I think I just got alittle confused now about how you are tryin to correct the problem of the same domain on 2 accts. A domain is tied to an acct. However, you might try cpanel if hsphere seems to complicated. Many people are gonna find any CP for webservices complicated even the "simple" ones.
