Mail 7 is experiencing problems. We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. As soon as we have more information we will update this thread.

It appears some mail is getting thru at the moment, please post what you did so we can pass it along.

Also will email be queried for delivery from the outage?

Alright, it's working fully on all ports. ClamAV took a dump, but Dean fixed it up.

@generic: It wasn't accepting any mail, so it depends entirely on the senders email server. Most mailservers will queue the mail for a set interval before it expires.

Lost Email

Our customer is claiming that email sent to him on mail7 was lost during the down time. Is this correct, or should the sender get a bounce back if the email is not delivered properly to mail7?

Send a message via ICQ to admin
Here is how all mail server(s) should work if a mail server it's being sent to is down.

You send an email, local mail server tries to send, if can't for the next 24 hours it will try to resend it. The times it tries to resend like once every hour or once every 3 hours or what ever is set by the mail admin on there side. This is so mail is not lost when sent. Ours are set this way by RFC's but if someones mail server is not set right we really can't help that. But 99% of mail servers are so if they did not get an email one of two things happend.

1. It has not been resent.
2. There mail server they sent it from is not setup like it should be.

I am having a few issues still. Are there a few problems not resolved?
I changed to port 2525 from 25 before Christmas now getting the same response.

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '---@------.com'. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop3.amuri.net', Server: 'mail.amuri.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)', Port: 2525, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
