Unix1 is currently experiencing DoS attacks by a network cluster of outside hosts. It is basically an organized http GET request flood, and we are working to stablilize this machine at the present time. Customers may not be able to connect to sites hosted on this server for the time being as the attacks continue.

We have made some progress on restoring stability to this box. Apache should be answering more requests for pages now.

Customer just called and said his sites are all down... all are on unix1. Said it has been down for over an hour. I verified it is down, but do not have a time.

What is happening? When will this be up again?

Ditto here too, starting to get a couple of complaints come in.

I presume it's the DDoS again ?

We were having the same issue again. I've worked to stop the attack and was able to, but cannot guarantee they will not start over.

Server should be up

I got one customer calling every few minutes. He has 21 websites on unix1... UGH

Got a time frame?

I was able to stop the first attack wave but they changed teh DoS technology and started over. This DDoS technology is mutch harder to stop and we are doing all we can about it.

As of 2:30am, technicians are still working to stop a SYN flood affecting the box.

Is the router/firewalls SYN flood protection stopping anything?, everything still seems pretty dead from this end.

Two techs are still working on it and haven't reported in to me with anything else yet.
