cf.hsphere.cc
Coldfusion is having an issue starting back up. We are looking in to the issue along with a cftransaction issue we have been seeing from a few clients today and are trying to fix both issues now.

Running the updater for CF now, that should fix the cftransaction issue and the issue of it not starting now. I hope.
Grrr.. Damn macromedia, I sure miss coldfusion 5. ![]()

IP Check shows CF back online but I've got a client still receiving a
HTTP 500 - Internal server error message, nothing at all, or a page displaying this: <. Just thought I pass that on. |

I'm getting similar things too... If can even connect at all, I'm getting an error that says that the Datasource service is not available.. Has anyone tried to reboot the machine?

Yea rebooted it a few times, there seems to be a problem with neo-query.xml, I have tried the .bak file with no luck. The only other solution I have found is uninstall and reinstall CF. I am trying to keep from doing this as I don't want it to lose any datasources.

We are sending out an email now how to fix your DSN's. You should get it in a few min. its an easy fix. We did have to reinstall CF, I think this fixed the cftransaction issue we had as well.

New News
!!Cold Fusion Users Only!!
1) Make sure your Cold Fusion plan(s) has "CF DSN Record" checked in the plan settings to 'include' it in your user accounts. 2) Login to your user panel, click on "ODBC". 3) Click on "edit" next to your DSN. 4) If the "ColdFusion MX DSN record" button is "OFF" turn it back "ON". If the "ColdFusion MX DSN record" button is "ON" turn it "OFF" then back "ON" again. 5) click "Update". We will restart the Cold Fusion Server every 2 hours starting at 7:30 PM EST for your changes to take effect. If you do this at 7:35, your Datasource will work after the 9:30 restart etc. Restart Times: 7:30 PM EST 9:30 PM EST 11:30 PM EST 1:30 AM EST 3:30 AM EST 5:30 AM EST 7:30 AM EST 9:30 AM EST 11:30 AM EST 1:30 PM EST 3:30 PM EST 5:30 PM EST We cannot possibly deviate from the above schedule for restarts. Please do not call or email to ask for a restart at a different time. Technical Details: The neo-query.xml was corrupt. After trying a number of Macromedia suggestions to fix the issue unsuccessfully and replace the file from backup, we've found the only workable solution was use the default neo-query.xml file. due to the number of users on the Cf machine the fastest way to replace all of the datasources would be through H-SPhere as outlined above. We sincerely apologize for the inconvienence.

FYI:
You may get an: "Internal Error, Tech Support has been Notified" message when turning the "ColdFusion MX DSN record" button to "On". If this happens, delete the current DSN, re-create it, and wait for the next reboot. This should do the trick- provided you have "CF DSN Record" checked in the plan settings as stated above. |

You are right TheDesigners thank you.
![]() The problem is before 2.4 we added some of the DSN's for you by hand, as much as I hate adding things by hand because of issues like this latter down the road that was the only option at the time. Now that everyone will be adding them though the CP everything should be working ok once the restart is done after you add it.

how long should a reboot last?
The one I was waiting for, which did start as scheduled at 9:30 (Eastern) appears to have failed somehow - and it's around 10:15 your time now... Last edited by tkraffty : 01-10-2005 at 09:29 PM. |
