Does anyone know whats involved with hosting an Act Database and if its supported here? - I have no experiance with ACT so I don't know if its the same as Access or it needs server software etc?

ACT has it's own proprietary DB format.
The web version of ACT is on a par with MS Exchange in the sense that you configure it at the server level and typically dedicate an entire server to it. Much bigger resource hog than Exchange.
