09//08/2003: Mail Servers - Spam Filters

This week, we will be conducting tests with other Spam filters. SpamAssassin seems a bit too resource intensive for the volume of mail we receive, and I do not see it as a viable option at this time. As such, the spam filters we be turned off and on throughout the week while we investigate alternatives. Your mail service will not be interrupted but you may receive more spam than when SA was active.

I believe the mail queue blockage is related to the load produced by SpamAssassin, so mail queues backing up should not be a problem after we find a better solution.
