PayPal vs 2checkout.com vs ???
All,
As I mentioned I will be signing up soon but this is one of the other things I need to get settled before doing so. As a new reseller I know I need to accept credit cards in order to survive this business, whether it's just local accounts or ones across the nation. But like most everyone else starting out I don't have a ton of capital. I was thinking of going with PayPal or 2checkout.com but both have their shortcomings vs. a full blown merchant account, but a full blown merchant account can be expensive. I wanted to get people's opinions on both the above mention possibility and/or any other options that they may know about. Thanks, Bob |

Go for both Paypal and 2Co, paypal costs basically nothing to join anyway.
I use both and find most customers tend to favour Paypal, 2Co works ok most of the time but their service isn't the best in the world. |

try payquake
I am using Payquake and recommend them to everyone.
They are a real merchant account without all the fees! I have set up myself and 2 clients so far without a hitch and they all love them. They use authorize.net and you even get an online form to input charges yourself if you need to at no additional charge! They have 3 plans, you can compare the plans with your approximate usage and charges to see what works best for you. The Cheapest plan is the "Pay for Play" option. No Setup Fees No Monthly Statement Fees No Gateway Fees. I am an affiliate so I would appreciate you following this link if you choose them. Payquake.com

yes they do, but they dont appear to be competitive in this area.
Their international accounts, which support the NEW Zealand Dollar are:Annual Fee: $215 Monthly fee $35 Discount rate 5.45% Trans fee $0.00 Application Fee: $399 Settlement is weekly I'm guessing you could do better.

trace, the Payquake website is really slim on details. maybe you can answer a couple of questions. Since Payquake includes a gateway (they don't mention authorize.net anywhere by name) does this mean that I need no other services besides my SSL cert which is already installed? Most important for me and understand that this is not for my design or hosting biz. As I launch my store I know that my customers will many times need to call and clarify or change an order. They may even call before ordering and give me the cc by phone, in fact I'd love them to call. Does Payquake include a virtual terminal for editing and placing transactions?

Just to let you know (not that there is anything wrong with it) But payquake is a reseller for Us Merchant Services or somthing like that, so basically they are the middle men. Ofcourse US MS doesn't offer the service directly to customers... so i suppose there is no choice. and they are priced right.
I use paypal and 2co, checks somtimes and bank transfer for friends. next version of the control panel with support paysystems.com which is quite good too. |

tracewebspace,
Does PayQuake allow recurring billing? Either way, I'm going to sign up through your reseller link. I'm getting sick of all the fees I'm paying. I got screwed by E-Commerce Exchange and Innovative Merchant Solutions. I don't use my merch acct to justify all the fees. I really got raped with a 4 year lease thing that I got suckered into. Really pisses me off. Thanks,

I signed up last week and I'm still running in test mode at authorize.net.
I am very impressed with their sign up procedures and the people out in Arizona. for a new guy with no history I think I was treated with respect and a quality of service i didn't actually expect. I also use paypal and I don't think there really is an issue of Paypal or else. I needed a fully integrated solution that allows my business customers to enter credit cards with ease, get a report on my site about order status and more important for my custom business, allows me to authorize payments but hold processing until I add freight costs and ship the product 2 or 3 weeks later. The integration with Candypress is seamless. The price is great and I don't mind paying a little higher percentage per transaction if it means I can offer good service and look like the big guys. Here's the Tracewebspace signup link again

Yes, you can do billing but it is through Authorize.net. Payquake is just the front end, Authorize.net is your backend and actual processing company.
Here is their announcment about it: Quote:
Now the downside: Authorize.net charges extra for this servcie: Automated Recurring Billing Fees Setup Fee: $60.00 Monthly Fee: $21.50 So if your other company includes it, your costs may be close in the long run. Either way, you will be happy if you choose to use payquake and Authorize.net. good luck, any other questions just ask... greg ![]()

Thanks nhdonny.
I am glad everyone is happy with payquake so far. For all of you resellers, don't forget to sign up for their partner program yourself once you start using payquake so you can get credit for your own clients accounts you sign up. There is a process where they have to accept you and thats usually based upon your expected signups, so not eveyone will be accepted. If anyone has any problems etc with payquake that they can not get resolved or that the service does not meet expitations and you signed up throught my link, just contact me and I can help to resolve the issue. thanks again, greg.

Nothing like bringing an old post back to life but I have a question. I was wondering if anyone had tried "YourPay.com" as a credit card processing program. I have a customer that is wanting to use this for their store that is not web based. They are wanting to use this app with their program that we wrote for them. I just don't want to do it unless I know the program will work well for them. Thanks for any info that you give.
