Batch Mailing vs Spam

In view of the latest spam issue which effectively killed email service for everyone, I thought I should be very careful about this, last thing I want is any disruption to Matrix's services.

We're planning to send out an email invitation for one of our client using a simple script through mail.hsphere.cc. We've done this in the past, never an issue since it doesn't even send out more than 50 mails altogether. But this time round, we're planning to send out about 300 of them, not a terribly large number ... But what's the safest way to go about it. Will it be an issue if we spread it in batches of 50? or should we go for even less? And since we're like 12 hrs ahead of EST, when we work, everyone should be asleep, should we focus on a particular time belt to minimise the "damage"?

300 emails is not much... If you were talking 100,000 emails that would be a different story. I would let all 300 buck...

THanks for informing us of this. 300 emails take all of 30 seconds max of the mails servers time.

I send out more than that on my mailing list for customers & have never had a problem. It takes all of about 5 minutes.

As long as it is opt-in, I don't see an issue.
