if this is a DoS then the servers need constant attention as it is not just a fix and your done, it could get very ugly with multiple up and down time [no sex jokes please]. Remember if you are a reseller and have 200 clients - have a bit of patience. VT is probably getting 10 fold what you are experiencing.
I have been following this since 10 EST last night and the boys are doing a great job. (for those on nt44/45, those are some dogs there, god bless you) cognet -10 bucks per megabit and all DoS training you'll ever need. long live Level3 and dark cable. |

i just know about few massive ddos attack which begin wihtin a last week. One of out customer on dedicated server ddosed with 60 mbit "poison dns" ddos attack. two other - same type of attack with power more than 2 Gbit. This type of attck is hard to block, because attack become to nameservers, not to just ip. hope that here we see another type of attack...

odd- the Nagios monitor page says all except nt31 are fine- switches are all ok, and unix28 is all green... yet my site on unix28 is not reachable.
is the nagios site the place to watch for status, or something else? |

Offense
Sorry, I know you are working on the issue.
The only reason that I take offense is because I also have some other sites at another hosting company and I haven't had issues in years. They have a pretty similar setup to Vortech at a few dollars more per month without the problems. Pretty much an Apples to Apples comparison. If I were Vortech's management, i would be very concerned that these issues keep surfacing. There is only so much that customers will take. The bottom line is that I just can't keep having outages and customers breathing down my back each time something like this occurs. everything seems to be back up fine again. thanks |
