Sambar is a limited functionality server. It offers a lot of "features", but not much depth to any of them. Apache offers more depth - including better feature security and performance.
There are 3rd party add-ons that will support Classic ASP on Sambar but it's just a buggy subset of ASP. Most ASP apps won't run on it without a lot of tweaking. There are projects for supporting ASP.NET on Apache but they're a long way from being a stable production environment.

non of ASP ports to apache works fine. they all cause crash on apache server, also some of functions are huge resource consuming.
ASP project under apache is not meant to be in industry hostings. |

I agree with powvex. If you really need to use ASP or ASP.NET, the best thing to do is create an end-user account with a Windows Plan.

There's Chillisoft for asp ... never heard of the others. I'd tend to agree that ASP is best run under IIS, as PHP is best run under linux (or LAMP). Why anoyone would mess with mixes such as this I don't don't get. Ports are rarely as functional as their original counterparts.

Chilisoft! ASP no longer exists, it was brought out by Sun a good few years ago and renamed Sun One ASP, and then later became Sun Java ASP, you're right too though it was never 100% compatible with Microsoft's ASP Classic.
