Buying and Selling Web Hosting Businesses

Does anyone know of any good sites that offer web hosting businesses for sale….. no I’m not wishing to sell, just curious about ‘possibly’ buying, the going rates, what’s on offer etc…. . No offence but please don’t refer me to WebHostingTalk.com

WHT is about the only place i can really think of.. But most there want more then they are worth..

A couple of years ago there was a site called 'Orchard' or something similar, but they never seemed to reply to emails or anything.

Over the years I've had a belly full of WHT and the 'wannabes' that frequent it........ I've a couple of good mates on there, but as for the rest...... well........

What exactly are you looking for, a small ISP that might want to get hosting off their hands. how many clients/domains are you looking for. I know of several local places that might want to sell their hosting part of their businesses, and I promise you, they charge a LOT and don't give you much in return, so if you did it right the customers would probably fall in love with you. :P

Certainly looking at expanding the ‘web hosting element though I'm unsure if 'buying' in clients is the right way to go, however 'taking' a look at what’s on offer and for how much certainly won't hurt - hence my enquiry.

2003 will be our fourth year in web hosting (which is one part of my business – we operate several), any info you can share would be of assistance. If you don’t want to post the details publicly please feel free to PM me.

Just my 2 cents.. I have not paid for clients that way... I see it being a lot of problems when doing so unless your buying out large amounts or going to keep them on the same system.. Good marketing seems to be the best way I have found to do better in hosting.

I would recommend just good ole marketing to get clients. We had purchased a very small company about 1 year ago, and after all was done, we lost money and most of those clients.
