Question When to upgrade reseller plan?

For those of you who are good at maths, when do you think is a good time to upgrade from the Morpheus plan to a Neo Plan.?

I am within bandwidth and space limits for now, although the bw is almost at 40gb.

The only thing i am paying for right now is the extra accounts at $4 each. It varies every month ofcourse, but had i upgraded to the Zeo plan and gotten 10 extra free account, i would not have had to pay 40$ two months ago for those ten extra customers.....

Ofcourse i would be paying 60$ recurring now, but the customers would be paying for my extra costs. And i would have saved 40$ for the new accounts.. but now i pay 15$ recurrng MORE than before..

so what is the logical thing to do? Should i keep upgrading to get those free accounts or what?

and how do you manage multiple Same type accounts, like 2 x Morpheous?
does each have a service domain ? and must be customised from the start? (more info on this would be nice)

is it a headache to have more than one plan??

looking forward to reading some replies!

When your overages start costing you more than a Neo plan would ... no sense upgrading until then imo.

The HSphere license costs are something your always just going to have to front up and pay. Charging your customers a setup charge means you'r always going to recoup that cost anyway. Hopefully 2.4 might actually refund them properly like it should but somehow I doubt it ... I've probably paid for 20-30 more control panel licenses than I actually use, but as the French say, ce-la-vie.

2 Morpheus Plans > 1 Zion Plan

You raise a good point!

Why not just sign up for a second Morpheus Plan? It would give you the best deal as far as space and bandwidth go.

I also would like to know if it would require a completely different service account. (I am sure it would.)

Keep in mind the true setup cost:

register new nameserver 10.00

burn 3 CP's for
Administrative account
Service Plan
TechSupport Admin

Anyway, upgrading to a bigger plan is exactly the kind of problem I like, so..........

(amy chance of a spell chxecker on this board?)

You may also want to take a look at your bandwidth, and perhaps your disk space usage befor deciding between two Morpheus plans or one Neo Plan.

Regarding the spelling, I find that iSpell comes in very handy. Juyst a right-click away. Let's you check the spelling on any web pages text boxes, or just on selected text.

actually i liked brangwyn's idea.

This month i paid ~80$ for a Morpheous plan because of cp licenses and a customer who used plenty of bw. so thats 45$ more than usual . Had i been clever an upgraded i would have saved over $20.

I think its time to upgrade, i mean paying 15$/m more for a Neon plan, and getting 10 account and 20gb more bw, is better than paying 35$/ for another cypherplan. (in terms of bandwdith not space..)

Those 10 accounts will save me 40$ anyway in the long run aswell.

Will wait and see and what bandwidth usage levels are this month.

I am sure there is a mathematical solution for perfect plan switching, just my head can't deal with numbers.

I will get a Cypher anyway for another currency soon, that should be fun!

2x morpheous also looks good, but i prefer one account/currency, its easier to manage.

First, you can drive yourself crazy being too cost conscience...use that same energy to be get new business conscience. Other than that..Brangwyn's rule is the simplest way to put it. If you break the plans down into a spreadsheet and do a cost analysis you will know what your costs are, what to markup for profit...you also have to be on top of things for months that go over. Do projections will also help w/ that. Charging a moderate setup fee is the only way to cover that additional acct fee. Personally the headache of managing multiple svc domains will add more cost than you think. With time management etc... and eventually you will have to keep doing the same thing over again.

Not sure there is, the plans themselves still don't scale all that well, I was having disk space problems until we went too summary .. now I'm having traffic problems .. for instance a Matrix plan with 9GB Disk 150GB traffic .. if your customers were using most of that disk, then stands to reason that yout daily traffic usage is probably going to be a high percentage of that 9GB too .. if you were chewing threw say 6GB of traffic a day, you'll be going over that 150GB each month easily, especially as Database traffic still afaik contributes towards that usage (I've got some large DB driven sites and I suspect a lot of their traffic is actually that DB traffic)
