Webmail choice vote

Hi All

Could we reopen the discussion on the webmail choice we ended up with the last time they opened teh subject?

2 years of users complaints are enough don't you think?

We are receiving tons of complaints regarding atmail speed over dialup specially from International users.

Crashing web browser is also a major problems. Lack of support and updates must be a thing to consider specially after all those open source webmail solutions out there.

A second solution is not a lot to maintain giving the growth the Vortech user base is gaining every year. Being able to offer a choice of webmail client is important in this day of wireless and mobile user base.

A decent Webmail access to emails is becoming a deciding factor when choosing a hosting provider. We have to compete with webmail features of the likes of Yahoo and Google wbmails.

So could we get squirrelmail back at least as an option?

What do you guys think about this ?

In the mean while I need help geting Squirrelmail working with Vortech setup.

I setup mailweb.mydomain.tld already and pointed to mail.mydomain.tld as per standard SQ setup. It works fine.

However, I need to have users from different domains access emails using this setup too.

Users login as : user@userdomain.tld

I need to have SQ use the host mail.userdomain.tld to read the user emails.

How do I go about doing that.

I checked vlogin and multilogin plugins but I couldn't figure out a solution for my particular problem.

How did you guys solve this?

That is a big can of worms; One should be cautious about opening such cans...
The "original thread" on the subject voices a couple of different views on that issue.
