Unix14 Sluggish

Has anyone else noticed that Unix14 is sluggish at the moment? I can't seem to get better than 10KB/s.

I didn't create a ticket. I was just wondering if it was just me, or if other were noticing the problem.

I didn't want to bother you if I didn't have to.

Don't have anything on there, but the trace and ping is about 20ms slower than some other unix systems.

I think he was saying it was 20ms slower than the ping to the other machines, not that it was 20ms

I had this issue today, I was led to believe that it was because my DB is large... and now I am being told by one tech that exporting it for me is no problem, and by another that the importing and exporting of DBs is a devlopment issue, and not technical.

Thats really good.

Transferring a DB IS a whole other issue than slow http response. Altho, one can affect the other.

Did you even read my post? I saw 14 being slow today and asked what was up... I was told that it seemed fast for a site using a database as large as mine. No one has move any databases, nor did I say anything that should lead you (or anyone) to think that I had.

If you get a nice tech and he has time he might do it for you, if we are busy then it is a devlopment issue. It was for the first guy as well he might have just been in a good mood.

You can use phpmyadmin to do this in 90% of the cases, I have used phpmyadmin on DB's as large as 100MB, any thing bigger some times gets a little funcky.

But they could have told you about phpmyadmin, but being that you are a reseller that might have thought you known about this since you are hosting other customers. Just a thought RTFM.. J/K

W,
I read it. It was not clear that you were talking about web transfer to me. When you talk exclusively about a db and then exporting it. That lead me to believe you may be doing DB dev work. Just referring to the diff in http transfer issues and DB issues which can be unrelated. Which sounds kinda like what the tech said. I have no way to know whether you know this or not based on your post...just tryin to help.

P.S. If it is MySQL. SQLyog can speed DB Maintenance things greatly. www.webyog.com
