ColdFusion MX - Once again

Guys,

Any news on installing ColdFusion MX? This should not be too hard and would be a welcome upgrade to us non PHP/ASP users!

I have been reading up on coldfusion MX as I was wanting to purchase it for a few servers, and from the forums I have read it is not yet a reliable product, and there are MANY customers very upset with Macromedia. Thats just what I have read, and decided to not buy it because of that.

landiserve, it is at least as reliable or better than CF5, wouldn't you say?

Well CF5 i have to say I have NEVER had a problem out of and works great. Now Macromedia took CF5 and changed every thing. In CF5 in IIS it points to a DLL. If this DLL was there in MX we would have ZERO issues and could remove CF and put CFMX but its not. Thats the install issue we have with it.

But I think 5 is still much better then MX as far as being stable.

CF MX is JAVA based.

I highly suggest you offer Cold Fusion 5 AND MX. Allow the user to select which one they want to use.

i guess i mean WILL MATRIX stick it on its own server and tie it in with the control panel, so we can use and sell it.

Hrm, that would mean all accounts that had CF enabled would ahve to be on one server, I don't think that would work too well. But I may be wrong, however, there are still stability issues with it, maybe after a few patches more it will get better.

You can't run something like CF MX from its own server to work with a web server

CF MX is an App server. Sure it can be on it's own server and interact with a seperate webserver.

I looked into Coldfusion MX and came to the same conclusion as landiserve. In my opinion, it needs to become more reliable before I would consider using it.
