You wrote:
"The next thing a number of you are doing is that while you have changed to the shared ips in your control panel yet you have neglected to reflect these changes at your registrar. We are in the process of removing the old nameserver ips so failure to do so will result in your website ftp and mail no longer functioning until two days after you make the change. You have been given more than enough time to make this change. There will be no extensions on the old nameserver ips they are being removed. I suggest you check and make sure you have completed this task." The shared IP in my reseller accounts are set to IPs like 65.57.229.2. Am I correct in assuming that if their domain registrars point to a domain name (ns/1.myservicedomain.com) rather than an IP, then I don't need to do anything? Or are you saying I still need to make some change with the registrars? |

payne, login to your admin control panel, go to E.Manager, and go to server aliases, when looking there the top two will be REseller's DNS servers, the IPs listed there should be reflected at your registrar. 65.57.231.100 and 65.57.231.120 are more than likely what they should be. For HSPhere plans.

I'm not trying to sound rude here, but which bit don't you understand obs ?
It means pretty much as it's written, no longer will you be able to have your own dedicated IP's for your reseller nameservers. If your not sure what this means, then chances are it probably doesn't effect you at all obs ![]() |

Maybe You are right, but whether can You simply explain
what DNS we must give to our clients!? Now we give them: ns1.resellerdomain.com IP 65.57.231.100 ns2.resellerdomain.com IP 65.57.231.120 After these changes what DNS they should use? ![]() |

it will email them with the nameservers to use, as it always has. Note you also need to make sure your register the new ns2 (looks like you might have ns1 named ns2).

So obs probably needs to register ns3
As Stephen says H-sphere will automatically email your customer the info.If you create the new alias as ns3 and register that, then from now on for all new domains it will be ns2 and ns3 that they get for their nameservers. |

Thank You for assistance!
![]() I just want to check up, that I correctly understood you: Under mine reseller domain I have created one more NS - NS3: ns.resellerdomain.com IP 216.157.129.251 Finally: DNS1 ns1.resellerdomain.com IP 65.57.231.100 DNS2 ns2.resellerdomain.com IP 65.57.231.120 DNS3 ns.resellerdomain.com IP 216.157.129.251 I also have made everything, that it is necessary in H-Sphere and E.MANAGER. --------------------------------- So... 3 days ago at us was signed up the new client. He has asked for ours DNS to transfer him domain to us! We gave him DNS: ns1.resellerdomain.com IP 65.57.231.100 ns2.resellerdomain.com IP 65.57.231.120 Today I have checked up in Checkdns "Verifying if NS are alive" and have received the following results: Quote:
My question such: Whether it is necessary, that this client has to change him DNS NS1.resellerdomain.com with new DNS 3 ns.resellerdomain.com? Thank for your patience and help! |
