cf custom tags

I have a client that needs a custom tag to auto generate thumbnails. Matrix doesn't offer custom tags. Anyone have any ideas on other solutions. I know nothing about cf.

Or any other hosters that I can use for my cf clients that are somewhat affordable? (I am not leaving matrix for the rest!!!)
