Please don't use the new customised error page feature under 2.3 for NT plans. I just did and now my entire site is down. I think we should wait and let the admin guys sort it first.

 but my side is dead for now ... damn.

For anyone still trying to find this feature, you turn it on in the plan 'Edit' function of admin control panel; a checkbox called 'Custom Error' and then get an extra option in your Web Service edit area of the domain in question called 'Error'.

Just don't turn it on... I tried it on a test domain and am now getting:
Server Configuration Error
The server has encountered a configuration error attempting to process your request. The configuration parameter MD_CUSTOM_ERROR (6008) has an invalid value. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.

Even when you turn it back off you still get the error - no matter what part of your site you access - even a page that exists normally.

There is some documentation on PSoft website under:
http://www.psoft.net/HSdocumentation/user/manipulating_pages.html#error_pages
which specifies you should have 'Message' or 'URL' options... I only have URL in my system and it looks completely different to the sample in the docs.

Thanks for your post. I hadn't seen that yet but I will leave it disabled for sure until I hear it's safe. I hope your site gets straightened out soon.

Just got this back from Psoft.

This is a bug in the H-Sphere software. We will fix it in the nearest H-Sphere version and update your Winboxes as soon as we can. Sorry for the inconveniences

hey.....custom error pages are important....it's good luck that I still haven't turn them on in the domain even though I have allowed them in the plan......

I was just planning on doing that today. Is it now safe to turn them on or the problem is still there?

I don't know if they changed something or if I was typing something wrong before but I was able to get it working using the directions in the hsphere docs

To configure Error Pages, do the following:

Select Quick Access in the Account menu.
Click the Web Options icon on the page that shows.
Click the Edit icon next to the domain you need.
On the Web Service page, scroll down to find the Error option and click the Add icon on its right.
Select Error 404/Not Found from pick list
Type in the path of the error document
thedomain.com/errors/error404.html

I created an errors subdirectory for the domain I want the error to be used and placed error404.html there.

I don't think any bug they were talking about above has anything to do with why some are having trouble with them now, considering the posts are over a year old. I've had no trouble on NT16 with error pages... perhaps there's something screwy with the latest builds of HSphere, or something not correctly set on the newer servers.

Maybe one the fine administrators can give us an update on any known issues with error pages.

I think I just spelled the path wrong. It seems to work fine now.
